Had never intended Hume should be part of this, but he's actually fundamental to the whole thing. Realized as I was writing it that Popper was much more of a positivist than you might expect and that his stubborn insistence on falsification despite Duhem and in the face of Quine was probably because of a shared reading of Hume as the anti-causality dude.
